Doktorandentraining (Ph.D. Student training) 2024 in Freiburg im Breisgau

Hands-on MR Physics with Pulseq

on February 8th and 9th, 2024

The Division of Medical Physics at the Department of Radiology, University Medical Center Freiburg is pleased to welcome you to join the 24th Ph.D. Student Training of the German Section of the ISMRM to be held on February 8-9, 2024 in Freiburg, Germany.

Uncover the secrets of MR physics through engaging lectures by renowned MR experts, and dive into the action with hands-on exercises! Teaching will be based on carefully designed Pulseq code examples, closely linked to the lectures and demonstrating both basic and advanced concepts of MR imaging. Get ready to interact with the experts and experience the thrill of crafting your own Pulseq pulse sequences. Opportunities for simulating and executing your own Pulseq pulse sequences on a real MRI scanner will be provided. For the best experience, you are expected to bring your mobile computing device, capable of running a Chrome or Firefox browser and having a sufficiently large screen and keyboard to aid code viewing and modification.

Venue
Division of Medical Physics is located centrally at the campus of the University Medical Center Freiburg. Both, theoretical and hands-on courses will take place in the Medical Physics building. Practical MR scanner exercises are also planned on-site, within a 5-minute walk from the main venue.

Please consider the time before or after the workshop to discover the enchanting allure of Freiburg, where medieval charm meets sustainable innovation. Nestled at the edge of the Black Forest, this vibrant city captivates with its cobbled streets, Gothic architecture, and lively markets. Experience Freiburg’s unique blend of history and modernity, creating a picturesque haven for every traveller’s delight. With some luck, there will be enough snow in the Black Forest to enjoy outdoor activities such as Alpine or Nordic skiing.
