On December 15, 1997, the „Deutsche Sektion der ISMRM e.V.“ was founded with headquarters in Cologne. This non-profit association is intended to fulfill the functions of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (Berkeley, USA) in Germany. It was initially recognized as its „German Chapter“. Since 2024, the Chapter has been renamed „DACH Chapter“.
DACH is the combined country code of the three countries Deutschland (Germany), Austria, and Switzerland (Confoederatio Helvetica) and has the meaning “roof” in German. With this name change, all three countries are represented within this chapter under the same roof. With this, the official language has been changed to English. This was necessary as Switzerland has four official languages: German, French, Italian, and Rhaeto-Romanic.
On these WWW pages, you will find details about our association, its purpose and statutes, a report on its foundation, and up-to-date information about its activities. You will also learn how to become a member. In addition, these pages are intended to serve the exchange of information in biomedical NMR for everyone. Job information can be exchanged, and interesting links to laboratories and researchers can be found.
